On an early morning stood the Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 of Bok Seng from Singapore (SG) waiting at a port area.
The second crane for that day is this sharp Liebherr LTM 1750-9.1 of Peck Tiong Choon.
Both cranes will be used this day to hoist a heavy hammer from the storage onto a pontoon. That sound like it is going to be a great day!
Some moments later are both cranes installed on the storage area.
The LTM 1500-8.1 is here fitted with 105 tonnes of counterweight and has the main boom extended to a length of 26.5 meters.
The LTM 1750-9.1 is here fitted with 114 tonnes of counterweight and has the main boom extended to a length of 32.7 meters.
This hammer, a Menck MHU1900S, weights in total 160 tonnes and was here only quickly lifted and loaded onto a SPMT.
For the internal transport of the hammer were in total twelve axles SPMT of Scheuerle used. The two six-axle SPMT modules are powered by a Scheuerle Z350DA power pack with a power of 350 kW.
Some moments later is the LTM 1500-8.1 relocated to the quay, this time with 135 tonnes of counterweight.
Because the hammer will be lifted on larger radius later was it also required to set the LTM 1750-9.1 up in a heavier configuration, the YSL superlift is unfolded here.
The SPMT is driven between the cranes.
The outrigger base measures 12 x 12 meters, the crane is using outrigger pads of Bok Seng here. Here is the LTM 1750-9.1 fitted with the full counterweight of 204 tonnes.
The length of the main boom remains 32.7 meters, but this time with superlift.
The cranes are ready and the hammer is hooked on. The LTM 1500-8.1 has the main boom extended to a length of 31.7 meters, here is the YSL superlift now also in use.
The 160-tonne hammer hangs again in the cranes and will be loaded onto a ponton behind the cranes. The LTM 1500-8.1 picks the hammer up by a 9 meter radius, the LTM 1750-9.1 at a radius of 14 meters.
Relatively fast is the hammer slewed between the two cranes.
Then the LTM 1500-8.1 increases the working radius to 16 meters and the LTM 1750-9.1 to 18 meters.
The hammer is fast and safely loaded on the pontoon. The cranes can start to dismantle again and move on to the next job!
