To tilt a heavy pile on the yard of Yew Choon in Singapore (SG) would both of their large crawler crane come to action. These are the Liebherr LR 1750/2 and Demag CC 2800. That sound like some impressive lifting.

The LR 1750/2 just finished the resting and was taken into operation. This is the first deployment of the crane.

The CC 2800 has year of manufacture 2003 but still looks like new.

The slings are attached to the hook. The lifting will be started soon. The 600-tonne hook weights around 16 tonnes.

The CC 2800 is fitted with a 60 meter long main boom, the LR 1750/2 has here a 73.5 meter long main boom.

The pile is a 'suction pile' with a mass of approx. 190 tonnes. The pile has a length of approx. 20 meters.

The lifting is starting now. The pile is now lifted and hanging in the CC 2800.

The LR 1750/2 is attached to the side of the pile and pulls the pile now diagonally. At the same time is the CC 2800 lowering the load.

The pile is now hanging in a horizontal position and will be loaded on a self-propelled trailer.

The pile will now be loaded on the 12-axle Scheuerle trailer.

The Scheuerle will internally transport the pile over the yard.

A very sharp and quickly performed job by Yew Choon!

A few weeks later, another large pile had to be tilted. The impressive Demag CC 2800 is already prepared.

This pile had previously been brought into a vertical position for completion. For further transport, partly over land and mainly by sea, the pile must be returned to a horizontal position.

The second crane is the impressive IHI CCH1500-2.

Ready for some heavy lifting, the hook is reeved in 16 parts.

Once the IHI is secured to the load, the pile can be pulled out from underneath.

Slowly, the pile, weighing approximately 190 tons and measuring 20 meters in length, is brought into a diagonal position.

The Demag CC 2800 is set up in superlift configuration with a 60-meter-long main boom. The IHI CCH1500-2 is working with a 27-meter-long main boom.

The pile will be placed on a temporary support.

Once again, a fine and enjoyable job executed by the professionals of Yew Choon!
