Hitachi Sumitomo SCX2800-2

Marina Technology & Construction

This fine Hitachi Sumitomo SCX2800-2 belongs to Marina Technology & Construction from Singapore (SG) and is deployed there from a pontoon for work in the harbours and coastal areas. It is a 275-tonne crawler crane from the year of manufacture 2017.

The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M70-TL, a 12.9-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 272 kW (370 hp). The diesel engine drives a total of four hydraulic pumps.

The carrier is 9.045 metres long and 7.52 metres wide. For transport on public roads, the crawler tracks can be separated from the body; each track is 9.045 metres long, 1.12 metres wide and 1.35 metres high. The weight per piece is 22.2 tonnes. This crane is deployed from a pontoon for a long period of time, and the carrier is secured by means of a heavy steel structure.

A total of 18 tonnes of central ballast is mounted on the carrier, with one 9-tonne block on each side.

A total of 102.8 tonnes of ballast is mounted on the superstructure, giving a swing radius of 6 metres. The ballast consists of a base plate of 22.4 tonnes, six blocks of 6.9 tonnes (right) and six blocks of 6.5 tonnes (left). The ballast is therefore not symmetrical.

The main boom has a base length of 15.25 metres and can be extended in steps of 3.05 metres to a maximum length of 91.45 metres.

The crane is equipped with two 13.5-tonne hoist winches.

Here, the crane was erected with a 54.85-metre main boom. In this configuration, the crane can lift a maximum of 81 tonnes at a radius of 10.2 metres or 12.5 tonnes up to a radius of 49.2 metres.

A very fine crane from Marina Technology & Construction!
