This attractive Hitachi Sumitomo SCX2800-2 of Sarens from Dordrecht (NL) was assembled on a construction site in Hoofddorp (NL). It is a 275-tonne crawler crane that is still in factory colours here.

The comfortable cab can be tilted by 20 degrees for improved upward visibility. During road transport, the cab is slewed in front of the body so that the transport width remains within 3 metres.

The undercarriage is 9.05 metres long and 7.52 metres wide. The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 6M70-TL, a 12.9-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 272 kW (370 hp). The crane is equipped with two 13.5-tonne hoist winches.

A single crawler is 9.045 metres long, 1.12 metres wide and 1.49 metres high. For road transport, the crawlers must be dismantled, each weighing 22.2 tonnes.

A total of 18 tonnes of central ballast is mounted between the crawlers, 9 tonnes per side.

The ballast on the upper structure of the crane weighs 102.8 tonnes and has a turning radius of 6 metres.

Here the crane was assembled with a luffing jib. The maximum length of the luffing jib is 60.95 metres, which can be mounted on a main boom with a maximum length of 60.95 metres.

The luffing jib here is 42.65 metres long. An attractive crane from Sarens!
