The impressive Liebherr LTM 1500-8.1 of Sante from Singapore (SG) was to be deployed for a night-time job. Here, the crane arrives at the construction site. It is a 500-ton crane mounted on an 8-axle carrier.

A few moments later, the crane is fully assembled, and the lifting work can begin quickly.

The undercarriage of the LTM 1500-8.1 is powered by a Liebherr D9508 A7, an 8-cylinder diesel engine delivering 500 kW (680 hp). The diesel engine drives axles 1, 2, 4, and 5. Axles 1 to 4, 7, and 8 are steerable.

The outrigger base measures 10 x 9.6 metres, or half 10 x 6.25 metres.

The first load for the evening is delivered by truck. Several excavators need to be lifted onto the roof of an old building. These excavators will be used for the demolition of the structure.

Here, the crane is set up with 105 tonnes of counterweight.

This job could only be carried out at night, as the site is located next to Clarke Quay, a very popular tourist area in Singapore. The building being demolished here was Liang Court, a shopping centre. A new apartment complex is currently being built on this site.

The crane was assembled in a relatively simple configuration. The main boom is extended here to a length of 57.7 metres. The first excavator, weighing approximately 16 tonnes, is being hoisted here.

Sante usually employs this crane for the assembly and dismantling of its own tower cranes. This particular job was executed on behalf of another crane company.

The second excavator is slightly larger and heavier, around 20 tonnes.

By this time, daylight is starting to break. The crane only needs to hoist some additional tools for the excavators onto the roof, after which the job is completed. A fine deployment by Sante!
