Liebherr LR 1250

Stemat

This impressive Liebherr LR 1250 was operated by Stemat (now: Boskalis) from Dordrecht (NL) from a pontoon. It is a 250-ton crawler crane built in 2001.

The crawlers of the crane measure 9.05 metres in length, 1.2 metres in width, and 1.455 metres in height. Each crawler weighs 20 tons.

The crane is powered by a Liebherr D9408 TI-E, an 8-cylinder diesel engine delivering an output of 405 kW (544 hp).

The undercarriage measures 9.05 metres in length and 7.5 metres in width.

The superstructure is equipped with a total counterweight of 75.3 tons. The counterweight consists of a 12.6-ton base plate, two slabs of 10.6 tons each, and a total of eight blocks weighing 5.1 tons each. The counterweight has a slewing radius of 6.235 metres.

The upper structure houses two 15-ton hoisting winches, each equipped with a 28 mm hoisting cable. For this operation, only one winch was in use.

The undercarriage carries a total of 27 tons of central ballast.

The main boom has a base length of 20.0 metres and can be extended to a maximum length of 96.2 metres.

In this configuration, the crane was equipped with a 43.4-metre-long main boom, allowing it to lift a maximum of 110.5 tons at a radius of 8 metres or 12.6 tons at a radius of 44 metres, provided the correct hook and reeving arrangement are applied. An impressive crane from Stemat!
