In 2021, Antara Koh from Singapore (SG) commissioned directly two of these interesting Manitowoc 16000 crawler cranes. Both cranes came used from Malaysia and were built in 2007. Each crane was mounted on a pontoon and prepared for a large project off the African coast.

The Manitowoc 16000 is a 400-tonne crawler crane, here in the Series 3 version. The main boom has a base length of 30 metres and can be extended to a maximum length of 96 metres. This crane is set up with a 66-metre-long main boom.

The second crane was also set up with a 66-metre-long main boom.

The crane is powered by a Cummins QSX15-C500, a 15-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine delivering 372 kW (500 hp). The diesel engine drives several hydraulic pumps.

The undercarriage is 10.43 metres long and 8.84 metres wide.

A total of 150.58 tons of counterweight is mounted on the superstructure. This consists of a base plate weighing 19.56 tons and sixteen slabs of 8.164 tons each. The counterweight has a slewing radius of 7.56 metres.

The crane is equipped with a 16-ton main hoist and a 13-ton auxiliary hoist, both of which are in use here. A large 27-ton hook is reeved through the main boom.

The crane is fitted with two large slewing motors on the superstructure.

Each crawler track is 10.43 metres long, 1.52 metres wide, and 1.61 metres high. A single track weighs approximately 32.66 tons. As the crane was to be transported over sea, the undercarriage was secured with large steel frames.

A total of 54.43 tons of central counterweight is mounted on the undercarriage.

The 13-ton auxiliary hoist is mounted in the boom foot section.

At the end, two overview photos of the second crane. Two special and interesting crawler cranes owned by Antara Koh!
