This beautiful Spierings SK498-AT4 of Schot from Alkmaar (NL) was deployed on a Saturday morning in Medemblik (NL) to lift prefabricated elements for a new shed over a building.

It is a four-axle mobile tower crane with a maximum load moment of 103 tm and a jib length of 44 metres.

The four-axle carrier is powered by a DAF MX 300, a 12.9-litre 6-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 300 kW (402 hp). Axles 2, 3 and 4 are driven. Axles 1, 2 and 4 are steerable.

The outrigger base measures 6.925 x 6.85 metres or 6.925 x 5.15 metres on half outrigger base. In this case, the crane is set up on one side fully outrigged and on the other side half. The load chart for the half outrigger base is then still used.

The superstructure is powered by a John Deere 4045HF475 diesel engine with an output of 129 kW. The ballast has a swing radius of 3.55 metres.

The tower extends to a horizontal hook height of 26.5 metres. The crane can be operated both from the cab and by remote control.

The boom has a length of 44 metres. The maximum load of 8 tonnes can be hoisted to a radius of 12.85 metres; at maximum radius, the capacity is still 1.9 tonnes.

In transport condition, the crane is 15.98 metres long, 2.75 metres wide and 4 metres high. The transport weight is 48 tonnes. Thanks to the operator for positioning the crane for the photograph!
