Hup Hin

This beautiful Terex AC 160-2 belongs to Hup Hin from Singapore (SG). The crane carries the names and colours of Tong Soon Crane, also from Singapore, a company that was taken over by Hup Hin. It is a 160-tonne crane mounted on a 5-axle carrier.

The carrier is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 502 LA, an 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 380 kW (516 hp). The carrier has a 10x8x8 drive configuration, with axles 2 to 4 driven and axles 1, 2, 4, and 5 steerable. The third axle is liftable.

A total of 10 tonnes of counterweight is carried on the carrier deck.

The outrigger base measures 8.23 x 7.5 metres, or half 8.23 x 5.4 metres.

In transport configuration, the crane is 15.25 metres long, 3 metres wide, and 4 metres high. The transport weight of the crane in this configuration is approximately 75 tonnes. The outrigger pads are carried at the rear of the carrier.

A counterweight of 5.3 tonnes remains mounted on the upper structure. The total counterweight of the crane weighs 54.2 tonnes, of which a maximum of 15.3 tonnes can be carried on the crane itself; the remainder must be transported by truck. The counterweight has a slewing radius of 4.53 metres.

The crane is equipped with a 10-tonne hoist winch using 21 mm hoist rope. The upper structure is powered by a Mercedes-Benz OM 904 LA, a 4-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 130 kW (175 hp).

The six-section main boom has a base length of 13.1 metres and extends five times to a maximum length of 63.9 metres. Optionally, the main boom can be extended with a folding jib of 9 or 16 metres in length. The jib can be mounted to the main boom at an angle of 0, 20, or 40 degrees.

A very fine crane from Hup Hin! This company operates cranes with lifting capacities up to 450 tonnes; its largest crane is the Sany SAC4500S.
