Sumitomo LS-248RH-2

Hapo International Barges

This fine Sumitomo LS-248RH-2 belonged to Hapo International Barges from Rotterdam (NL). It is a 150-tonne crawler crane from the year of manufacture 1986 that came to Europe in 2003. The previous owner was the demolition company RIS Van Schie; in 2026 the crane is being offered for sale via a Dutch dealer.

The carrier is 8.84 metres long and 6.67 metres wide. The crane is powered by a Mitsubishi 8DC9C, a 16-litre 8-cylinder diesel engine with an output of 184 kW (250 hp).

A five-part ballast with a total weight of 55.8 tonnes is mounted on the superstructure. The ballast has a swing radius of 5.89 metres.

The main boom has a base length of 18.3 metres and a maximum length of 82.3 metres. The crane is equipped with two 15-tonne hoist winches.

The A-frame is 7.73 metres high in working position. The gantry (or live mast) is primarily required to erect long main booms.

Here, the crane was erected with a 36.6-metre main boom. In this configuration, the crane can lift a maximum of 75.6 tonnes at a radius of 8 metres or 13.3 tonnes up to a radius of 32 metres. Here, the crane was used as an auxiliary crane alongside the large Hitachi Sumitomo SCX5000. A fine crane from Hapo International Barges!
